Green Wall

We believe in the power of children’s joy of discovering, experimenting, and persuading others to their goals, which is why we operate according to the principle that what the shell soaks in youth smacks of in old age.

By implementing projects aimed at the youngest, we show how (even in a small area) to develop space harmonized with nature. We focus on places that will have a positive impact on the climate, teach how to care for vegetation, and allow you to watch nature and taste it. Thanks to such projects, we enable the youngest but also the older ones (guardians, teachers, parents) to be agents of change, now and in the future.

For our project, we were looking for a place (in preschool areas) where we could show how, despite its low potential, we can regenerate the soil, and make life start to develop where nothing wants to grow, thus creating a model for others areas (preschool, school, housing estates), because you can regenerate anywhere. t turned out that there are plenty of places that require help in their development. We hope to be able to implement such projects in many of these locations.

One of the projects implementing these goals is the development of a part of the garden in the Entliczek Pentliczek Kindergarten in Warsaw, in a designated area (about 300 m2), located directly next to an unsightly, high wall. An area with a few trees and shrubs, with dry, compacted soil where nothing else wants to grow.

The project is possible thanks to own funds and a subsidy from the Capital City of Warsaw.

The purpose of the first stage was to renew the wall and the base of standard vegetation (green all year round), which will cover its surface in the next few years, as well as regenerate the soil in the adjacent area so that this area can be “revived” in the second stage. We achieved all our goals!

The wall has been renovated and we have planted evergreen ivy along its entire length. Why did we choose this solution? The green surface of the walls has aesthetic and ecological significance. Like other plants, vines absorb carbon dioxide and, as a result of photosynthesis, produce the oxygen necessary for human life. Transpiration of the leaf surface removes heat from the air layer between the facade of the building and the plant, thanks to which the humidity of the surrounding air is improved and it is cooled down. The large green mass also effectively absorbs dust and impurities.
